La Fée Verte
With flowers and with women,
with absinthe and with fire,
we can divert ourselves a little,
acting our parts in the play.
Absinthe drunk on a winter evening,
lights up in green the smoky soul;
and the flowers on the darling one
exude perfume before the bright fire.

These flowers are in my garden. Sometimes they look blue, sometimes they look purple. Nonetheless, they are very pretty.

This roll of film has a story. I thought I shot the entire roll at the Huntington only to find that it never advanced. So I shot it again in my garden, only to have the film break when I was rewinding. This is frame 32, and the tear goes right into frames 33, 34, 35 and 36. I love the look of destroyed film. So, I am posting it here because it is beautiful.
