Drawing Down the Moon
If you have built castles in the air,
your work need not be lost.
This is where they should be.
Now put foundations under them.
-Henry David Thoreau
La Fée Verte
With flowers and with women,
with absinthe and with fire,
we can divert ourselves a little,
acting our parts in the play.
Absinthe drunk on a winter evening,
lights up in green the smoky soul;
and the flowers on the darling one
exude perfume before the bright fire.
Charles Cros, 1842 – 1888
Cotton Candy
This is the color version of Garden Gnomes & Faerie Flowers. The setting sun casts a warm glow on cotton candy petals which also serve as fair rides for the faerie folk.
Mechelina
This flower is smaller than my thumb nail, maybe even smaller than my pinkie nail! I was watering Herman* one day and the beautiful succulent green plant next to him was flowering. I had no idea it springs flowers. I don’t know what plant it is, but it’s Micki’s. And so I captured the beauty of it for Micki, because she was out that day, and named it after her.

Beauty: Lost & Found
We were on a little hike in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We were looking for raspberries. We found one. I ate it thinking there’d be more. It was the only one. But I found this little gem. She’s a beauty.
