Masa Tsuzuki invited me over today to his new restaurant masacasa in Eagle Rock.
I was served authentic home cooked Japanese food.

Salad
House Green Salad (seasonal vegetables from Yasutomi Farm)

Hijiki (Seaweed and Vegetable)
Gyu Soboro (Ground Beef with Teriyaki Sauce)

And this is only a small part of the menu!

The dishes are flavorful, delicious, aromatic, and hits home right in your heart.

Complementing my dining experience are
the floor to ceiling soft yellow walls which will exhibit local artists’ paintings,
the geometric lights,
the rustic antique wood floors,
and the melodic beats of jazz and blues.

Hey everyone. We just happened to stroll in to Masacasa last night! Although they aren’t quite open just yet, they were having a “test run” with friends and family. Fortunately they invited us in to take part! We ordered the Chicken Teriyaki, Chicken Katsu, and Chicken Curry. They were all wonderful. Their prospective menu looks to be nice and simple offering japanese starters, a couple different types of sushi rolls and several main dishes. The main dishes come with brown rice, garden salad, potato salad, and miso soup. Their grand opening will be at the end of this month. Thank you Masa for the wonderful meals. We will be back often!

Allen Murabayashi is the Chairman and co-founder of PhotoShelter. I had the opportunity to meet him at the Palm Springs 2012 Photo Connect Festival. I introduced myself, we shook hands, and he asked me to introduce myself too. There are not a lot of people with his notoriety that will take the time with others, but he does. Thank you Allen.

The Huntington Gardens had another plant sale this weekend. I didn’t want to miss out!

These are my new buddies.
Echinopsis hybrid x 2… Those are the ones with pink flowers.
Mint julep, white flowering rosemary, and Italian parsley.

These echinopsis hybrids were very popular! I took home two! Tom was very helpful and knowledgeable about the care of these beautiful cacti.

After my excursion with the plant sale, I explored the gardens.
The beauty and grandeur always capture me.
The squirrels were loving all the attention too.

Under the shade of the Sabal mauritufomis I was reenergized, renewed, refreshed.

I fought for this photo. They were closing up and the security guys were telling us it's time to leave. I was waiting for this little guy to go into the sun, for the perfect moment. And I told the guys "there are other people behind me, I just want to get this photo." And they gave me a stern look. Meanwhile the lizard crawled into the sun. So I said to the guys "Hey, he's in the sun now. Can I take a photo of him in the sun?" And they *sighed*. Eventually they left because there was a call about a girl getting a bee sting, so they went to attend to that I think. So, I got this shot. Perfect
