The Crossing Of Caradhras
This image is from the cactus garden at the Huntington Gardens. The feeling I felt when I saw this through the lens is much like the The Crossing Of Caradhras in book one of the Lord of the Rings trilogy: The Fellowship of the Ring.
Asgard
This is a cactus flower in the Desert section of the Huntington Gardens.
I am naming it Asgard, the abode of the celestials and one of the nine worlds in Norse Mythology.
Aurora
I had vertigo the day I went to the Huntington when I first saw through a lensbaby. I sat down near these yellow flowers and fell into a meditation. This is what I saw.
(straight out of the camera through a lensbaby, unaltered)
Pink
Before you even step into the Huntington Gardens, you will find a plethora of beautiful flower trees adorning the parking lot. This blossom was high above my reach if I tried to view with my eye to the view finder. So I put it on Live View, and used a Lensbaby for the macro. This is a jpg. All color settings were done in the camera. No Photoshop. Only Lightroom to export to size.
Imajica
I am debating whether to use this for a show. It certainly feels more magical than Pandora. Is it dreamy? Is it a reverie? … Maybe
