Little Ethiopia
A delicious dinner in Little Ethiopia with Chris and Spencer after 4 days and 3 nights in Vegas.
I love my friends. I love experiencing so much culture.
Unphotographable | Sunday
As I stepped out of the house to go to dinner last night at 5:45pm, I realized I just missed what must have been an amazing sunset. The sky was still tinged with glowing orange red. I could feel the beauty of it all. So I chased the sunset while the rest of the sky fell into night. I found out later my friend was riding back on his bike to meet me and so he was absorbed into most of it. What a beautiful ride that must have been.
I didn’t take my camera out last night. I needed a night off to enjoy life. And it was perfect. I felt lighter, more carefree.
We had dinner at a Korean BBQ place, drinks at Hotel Figueroa, and True Grit at the Regal Theatre.
Yellow orange lights under around entwining leaves and black curving iron swirls.
Laughter, smiles, quick steps, a touch and I’m swinging around…
Under the dark star lit sky.
Music. Cool air. A beautiful life.
Retna | Photo LA
My co-worker Veronica said I should take this photo.
Here it is.
The artist is Retna.
Praying Mantis
The Praying Mantis teaches how to still the outer mind and go within ourselves.
Through this, we can draw upon greater power —
physical, emotional, mental or spiritual.
That stillness can be simple contemplation or meditation or even dreaming.
Healers often have Praying Mantis totems — for they use
their inner stillness to focus their healing power.
The greatest lesson this totem teaches is patience.
Learning to wait for the right moment before striking.
Today. Was. Magic.
I was working right up to 6:30 today when I looked up and realized the sky and buildings were glowing that warm yummy light I so so love. I took out my D90 and ran down the stairs to capture what I believed would be magical. And it was. Only that my D90’s batteries had completely drained. Sad! No! But Yay! iPhone! : )
This is from inside the lobby at A&I, where I work.
I always love looking up at those windows to see the sky outside.
Always a delight.
I don’t have photos of the light that was flooding under the back door as I was leaving.
Nor do I have photos as I opened the back door and my breath was taken away.
The feeling and visual was like in the Wizard of Oz,
when Dorothy opens the front door
and everything is in color and not black and white.
But I have this photo. And I think it still does the magical moment justice.
Walking backwards, the rainbow kept climbing higher.
This part of the sky fascinated me with its ethereal aurora-esque presence.
And the sky started melting into coolness
as we felt the first raindrops on our upturned smiling faces.
It was truly a magical day.
So blessed.
Love!
Hipstamatic & Water Lily
I’ve been shooting with my iPhone using the Hipstamatic App.
I am enjoying it very much. I hope you are too.
Here is my Water Lily photo.
And Diana+ Pinhole coming next!
